Amy began practicing yoga on and off in 2002. It was not until 2013 after the birth of her second child and diagnosis of an autoimmune disorder that yoga “found her” and forever changed her life. Initially drawn to the physical benefits (who doesn’t want a yoga butt?) she eventually found that through breath and movement her soul, faith, and spirit were in a place of peace and comfort that they had never known. Amy loves meditating on the Gospels and prayer during her practice. She believes that everyone has a unique journey to peace and enjoys walking with all peoples, no matter their beliefs, on their journey. Amy believes that unlike what our society teaches, meditation and gazing within are not a selfish act at all, but instead, connect an individual with the divine that is already within them begging to be known on a deeper level.
Amy is originally from Trussville, AL. She attended Auburn University and received her B.S. in Nutrition/Dietetics. She worked as a pharmaceutical and medical device rep for 12 years before taking a break from the corporate grind to focus on her family and yoga practice. She completed her 200 hr RYT at Lift Yoga studying with the amazing Kim Saunders and Sue Hopkins in 2017. Amy loves teaching at the studio, churches, and in the corporate environment. Her goal is to invite others to experience a peaceful moving meditation during her classes while also offering a challenge.
Amy knows first hand that learning to slow down in this fast paced world where we are used to staying connected to technology, work, social media is difficult, but necessary. She lives with her family on a small farm in Milton and loves using the inspiration she receives from nature to plan her class themes. If she is not on the farm or practicing yoga, you can probably find her at the beach.
