Erin’s first experience with yoga was following along with her mom’s VHS tape in the living room when she was ten years old. It didn’t quite stick at the time, but years later, she found yoga again. After struggling through a class and thinking that yoga probably wasn’t for her, the class ended with a pose called savasana. It was the most peaceful and freeing few minutes of her life, and from then on, she’s dedicated herself to learning, practicing, and sharing the practice.
Erin holds an E-RYT 500 designation. In addition to completing the YogaWorks 300-hour program, she’s trained in various methods including Yoga Nidra Meditation, Restorative Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin, and the Roll Model method of Myofascial stimulation with TuneUp Fitness. Her approach to practice and teaching is inspired by the philosophies of all of these schools and styles, as well as by her personal meditation practice, twenty years of classical ballet training, and by the relationships and experiences of everyday life.
She appreciates that people come to yoga for many different reasons, and aims to create a welcoming, challenging, and compassionate space when teaching.
